The art of presentation

In class we were assigned to present our research on our topic for our final presentation, however i was rather sick at the time and was unable to attend them in almost their entirety. so here is how i view a presentation

Audience-  Focus your presentation on the concerns of your audience, and attempt to hook them with your topic. The audience are the focus of the presentation since they are whom you are convincing or demonstrating for. Cater to the audience, read the room, and dont be afraid to throw in a joke.

Preparation-   As you prepare your presentation, you should have a point in mind. Once you have established a clear message decide how to best to explain it, you practice and think about were it may get stale and how you could explain it quicker but clearer.

Presentation-  The most important part, clear your head and go straight into the presentation calm, positive and alert. If the mood goes south you may wana roll with the flow a bit.

My interest in How humanity will evolve in the future

The future is one of the greatest questions everyone has how will life change in the future. I always wonder how things will end up, what will be human in the future. Sometimes its something i worry about, or the opposite smile about. The future does leave much to be desired after all its inevitable and shaped by every actions that plays out. This leaves it a great mystery that can only be assumed in many cases, but i personally believe that the future is shaped by us as much as it shapes us. I also firmly believe that if our species stays on its current course that we will no longer change with time based off of genetics, but the future that we shape.

6.7 and 6.8

With more and more students taking online courses, both the students and the college benefit. For example, online classes allow for students whom normally couldn't go to both classes and work a full-time job. In addition, the education can be superior since you would be able to take classes at your own pace with little or no metal encumbrance. However online education lacks the human element and relies heavily on technology which can hinder some people. this could be fixed though by first, supplementing classes with a more face to face experience. Secondly by providing multiple means of learning such as downloadable media or physical books. If these are addressed online courses would have little con to them and be a great source for students.

Many colleges and universities have instituted online education programs. These programs are the best way for some students to learn and maintain a job. If colleges are going to meet the rising demand for education, they should add online education since some people cant go to school and have a job in the current economy. The online course i took allowed me to work full-time and work toward the degree i wanted without breaking the bank, and recent studies show i'm not the only one millions take advantage of this method of study.

Opposing viewpoints

Gene Therapy is the introduction of normal genes into cells in place of missing or defective ones in order to correct genetic disorders.

PRO:
With gene therapy many birth defects, genetic disorders, and degenerative diseases. How does it do this you may ask? By injecting a virus with a genetic package into the patient as it infects cells it will instruct the cells to produce what the body requires and can no longer produce. This means that people whom once had no hope could function again.

CON:
While gene therapy may fix these issues, who can say where the issues will end? Many fear that as gene therapy progresses and gets more advance it may cross a line. What will be considered a defect and how far is too far. Will we end up "FIXING" so much we wont be human anymore. This fear has been popularized by many SciFi ,movies and shows, and the outcome is less than desirable. The augmented villain typically power hungry and sees everything else as a lesser species, and those who are deemed lesser usually face their "Wrath".

Both views have merit, but very distinct differences one focuses on the present and the other the future.
I personally believe that worrying about the future has merit but not enough to cloud the judgement of actions in the present. While it may be good to assume how your actions may effect the future and act with caution, it should not be at the expense of the good that can be done in the present. Therefore i am pro Hypnotherapy.

The Presidential Debate

The Presidential Debate

I believe that Trump won the debate, he was concise with his answers he did not act smug or exhibit pompous body language like his opponent, there were logic behind his answers, and most importantly the after debate polls support his win.

My Reasoning

When presidential candidate Donald Trump was asked questions he was clear concise and went directly to the point. While both candidates exhibited this is one of Hillary Clinton main arguments against Donald Trump was that he had no clear goals or ideas, and with his concise and clear dialog on what he planned to do her argument felt as though it had less relevancy. Another reason is how smug, pompous Hillary acted during the debate as i watched every time  her head shake slightly as she raise her shoulders and puff out her cheeks like some straight from the heavens above prefect being. Pompous is defined as having or showing the attitude of people who speak and behave in a very formal and serious way because they believe that they are better, smarter, and more important than other people. After watching the debate i wondered if people felt the same aura from her and found several articles about smug Hillary, even an outside source who had no care for the either of them distinctly noticed it. One of the most important reasons i found him to be the winner was his
points made logical sense. Cutting taxes rather than raising the minimum wage increase a persons disposable income without costing jobs as well as encouraging companies to grow and expand, while raising the minimum wage would require most companies to downsize putting more out of work than in. In the image shown to your right it displays a very basic view of raising the minimum wage and why its bad and whats worse is this is taken from static economics so its taken from the perspective of a perfect world. Also his point on Immigration if Hillary wanted to reform immigration especially when it comes to visas she would of had plenty of power to do so as secretary of state. Lastly and most of all while the pundants may have declared Hillary the winner the people declared Donald the winner.

Sweatshops an Fabric-ated Evil

Author Nicholas D. Kristoff begins his essay by exemplifying the poor situations going on in some of these decrepit countries by comparing them to hell or more specifically the hell as defined by Dante's Inferno. This sets an visualization to grow from the beginning of the essay allowing for it to play on your emotions allowing for the pathos in the essay to be further implied. He then refutes the politicians views he calls out in his essay in order to more powerfully prove his point. After explaining why they can help he explains why they are bad to both supplement why they are good and demonize why they are bad by stating that conditions they work in are awful but that if they didn't have that job they wouldn't be able to eat. He explains the situation that some of them are in defining the awful situations once again referring to the Dante like hell and the garbage heaped city. He ended his essay with a quote to tie up any nomenclatures about the situation by using the emotional appeal of a 13 year old girl saying shed prefer to work in a sweatshop than not to. Leaving the reader one final question if sweatshops are so bad why are they so needed.

Decoding visual arguements

The visual used in rules for writers demonstrates many people argument against the logical fallacy that Violent Media is bad for kids. The visual demonstrates the  decline in crime upon the release of violent media showing that their is no  negative correlation to violent media and crime in fact its almost as though it improved the situation.

While some may say that violent media shows kids how to be violent i don't see the harm in it, its harder to understand something you have never seen and its much easier to control something you understand. The image backs up this idea since every game listed is incredibly violent and action packed as well as very popular, therefore the outcome in crime would of statistically
been affected.
